jamovi is a free, open statistics package with a spreadsheet editor and menu-driven analyses. Results update live, it can show the equivalent R code, and a library of community modules adds extra methods. It opens SPSS, Stata and SAS files.

Switching from SPSS

Your data: SPSS data files: .sav, .zsav, .por. jamovi opens .sav, according to its own documentation.

  1. Keep your data from SPSS as a .sav (or .zsav / .por) file.
  2. Open that file in jamovi.

Watch out for:

  • Opened directly, per jamovi's features page.
